Trading involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for everyone. Trade5 (also "TradeFive"), operated by Trade5, is an educational journaling and practice tool. It is not financial advice, it is not a broker, and it does not execute trades. Practice-mode results are simulated.

1. Substantial risk of loss

Trading and investing in futures, foreign exchange (forex), cryptocurrencies, options, stocks and other financial instruments involves substantial risk of loss. Prices can move rapidly and unpredictably because of economic news, liquidity, volatility, market structure, technology failures and other factors. You can lose some or all of the money you put in and, with some instruments, more than your initial deposit.

  • Futures and options can produce losses larger than your initial margin or premium; options can expire worthless.
  • Forex is typically traded with high leverage and can be affected by gaps, weekend moves and broker-specific pricing.
  • Cryptocurrencies are highly volatile, trade around the clock, may be lightly regulated, and face additional risks such as exchange failure, hacking and loss of access.
  • Stocks can lose value quickly and may become illiquid or delisted.

2. Leverage & margin

Many markets let you trade with leverage or on margin. Leverage magnifies both gains and losses: a small price movement against you can cause a large loss relative to your account, trigger margin calls or forced liquidation, and lead to losses exceeding your deposit. Make sure you fully understand how leverage works with your broker before using it.

3. Only use risk capital

Only trade with risk capital: money you can afford to lose entirely without affecting your lifestyle, financial obligations or retirement. Never trade with borrowed money, money needed for living expenses, or money set aside for essential purposes.

4. Not investment advice

Nothing in Trade5, including its setups, rules, checklists, trade grades, insights, flash cards, video library, website or communications, is investment, financial, trading, tax or legal advice, or a recommendation or solicitation to buy, sell or hold any instrument. Trade5 is not a registered broker-dealer, investment adviser, futures commission merchant, introducing broker or commodity trading advisor, and does not know your financial situation, objectives or risk tolerance. Any rules or setups in the app are ones you create or choose for yourself.

5. Educational purpose

Trade5 is designed to help you record, review and reflect on your own trading, practice your process on historical data, and build discipline. It is provided for educational and informational purposes only. All trading decisions you make, in any account, are your own and you are solely responsible for them.

6. No guarantee of results

We make no promise or guarantee that using Trade5, keeping a journal, following rules, practicing in replay, completing flash cards, or watching any video will make you profitable or improve your results. Many traders lose money. Features such as rule tracking, P&L totals, grades, XP, levels and streaks are tools for self-review, not indicators of future success.

7. Hypothetical & simulated performance

Practice-mode results are simulated. Practice mode replays historical market data bar by bar. Trades you take in practice mode are not real orders: no money is at risk, nothing is sent to any broker or exchange, and fills are simulated at the replayed prices. Simulated results typically ignore or under-estimate real-world factors such as slippage, spreads, commissions, fees, partial fills, latency, liquidity and the emotional pressure of risking real money. Practice results, and any statistics, grades or XP derived from them, do not represent actual trading.

The following disclosure is required by the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Rule 4.41 for hypothetical or simulated performance, and applies to all simulated results in Trade5:

Hypothetical or simulated performance results have certain limitations. Unlike an actual performance record, simulated results do not represent actual trading. Also, since the trades have not been executed, the results may have under-or-over compensated for the impact, if any, of certain market factors, such as lack of liquidity. Simulated trading programs in general are also subject to the fact that they are designed with the benefit of hindsight. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profit or losses similar to those shown.

CFTC Rule 4.41(b)(1)(i), 17 C.F.R. § 4.41

Any example figures shown on our website, such as the illustrative "this week" P&L on our home page, are made up for illustration and do not represent real or typical results.

8. Past performance

Past performance is not indicative of future results. This applies to your own journaled trades, to practice-mode results, to historical market data, and to any results discussed by third parties. A setup or rule that worked in the past may not work in the future.

9. Third-party educational videos

The Mindset library links to trading-psychology videos published on YouTube by independent creators, including ICT, Anton Kreil / ITPM and PB Trading. These videos represent the views and opinions of their creators only. They are not created, reviewed, endorsed or verified by Trade5, and Trade5 is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any of these creators or their organizations. Any claims about performance, strategies or results made in those videos are the creators' own; evaluate them critically and independently.

10. Market data accuracy

Market data in Trade5 comes from third parties (such as the Binance public market-data API and TradingView's chart widget) or from CSV files you import yourself. This data is provided "as is" and may be delayed, incomplete, adjusted, or inaccurate, and may differ from the prices available at your broker. Calculations shown in the app (such as P&L, risk, rule usage and totals) depend on the data you enter and may contain errors. Do not rely on Trade5 data for live trading decisions, tax reporting or account reconciliation; always check your broker's official records.

11. Consult a licensed professional

Before making any trading or investment decision, consider your objectives, experience and risk tolerance, and seek advice from an independent, appropriately licensed financial professional in your jurisdiction. For tax or legal questions, consult a qualified tax adviser or attorney.

By using Trade5 you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Risk Disclaimer, and that you accept full responsibility for your own trading decisions. This disclaimer forms part of our Terms of Service.
